  • 14 Weeks left!

Well, I am about to start my 3rd trimester. We are getting so excited! I wanted to share some pictures.

I have been doing really well, although I am getting tired more easily now. We have decided to wait to see if it is a boy or girl until the birth. I just thought I would put a little update out here!

  • I'm going to have a baby!

Yes, I just recently found out I am pregnant and due in January. My husband and I are very excited. So excited that for once since I was a little girl time is moving slower!

We are doing well. I am managing an Organic Cafe that my mom opened last year. Boy oh boy is the food industry tough. She opened it in order to fund a non-profit ministry she also started last year called Love International...which is to disciple and minister to local foster youth and then take teams to minister to international orphans. God's idea! We are trying very hard to get everything running smoothly with the cafe so we can begin to actually make a profit to fund the ministry. It is all in God's hands, but it is sure easy to try to take it out of His hands.

My husband runs his own photography/coffee business with his parents. We both enjoy that a lot, but owning your own business is also a lot of work. I think totally worth it though.

We are blessed to live in an apartment above retail space almost right over his business and my job is only a block away. Even though our city is small, it feels like real city living :)

Well, I would love to hear little updates from everyone. I love to hear the adventures of YWAMers.

    Love you all!

Here is a wedding picture taken in our little city!

  • CHERAMIE RODY & ADAM HENLEY

    14 days to go!

    HOW WE MET
Long ago, in 1987 to be exact, at Puyallup Assembly of God, two families met for the first time...the Rody's and the Henley's. Adam was six and Cheramie was three. Though Cheramie doesn't remember a thing, Adam remembers seeing cute little Cheramie on several occasions. Gerod, Cheramie's older brother and Adam were buddies. Rachel, Adam's older sister used to babysit the Rody kids. And the rest was history...not quite. Fast forward fourteen years later. Adam and Cheramie met once again at a BBQ. Adam reminded Cheramie that he knew her family and used to play with her brother. That was that. No attraction on either side. The next couple years they ran into each other a few more times and even took a swing dance class together with friends...but still no interest from either side. Then Cheramie moved to downtown Puyallup (Washington State) and she became better friends with the Henley's. Both sets of parents encouraged Adam and Cheramie and before long the two became very curious about each other. One Christmas carol outing, one all night interior painting session, two dinners and a photography class later, they became official and changed their myspace status to "in a relationship".

    HOW WE GOT ENGAGED
On Adams birthday, Cheramie surprised him with a Harley Davidson motorcycle...rental! They had it for the day and made their way to Paradise on Mt. Rainier. God provided beautiful weather despite the forecast and they had a blast! In the words of Adam, "that was the best birthday present anyone has ever given me." He loved it! Cheramie loved it too, but her favorite part was when they pulled over at a scenic viewpoint and Adam asked her to marry him. I'd say it was the best birthday for both of them :)

I took this story from our wedding website! http://www.theknot.com/ourwedding/CheramieRody&AdamHenley

Sorry it took so long to give you the story.

Other updates: My family is opening a breakfast and lunch cafe also. Timing is rather strange. We expected to be open by now, but now two weeks until the wedding and we are not open. Yesturday I ended up sick from the strain and stress of everything that needs to be done. I think God allowed it so I would take a break. I sat in one chair almost the entire day doing nothing. Please pray for us if you think of it. The purpose of the cafe is to provide money and a location for a ministry we are starting called Love International. It is to benefit local foster youth and eventually international orphans. There has been oposition the enitre project, of course. Anyway, God has got it under control, even if we don't!

I have been gathering pictures for a wedding slideshow. Seeing all your faces brings back a lot of memories. I sure had a blast! I hope you all are doing great!

  • Going to the Chapel and I'm gonna get married!

Yes, it is true. I am no longer a single woman. I have been proposed to and I said yes.

I am going to type up the whole story of us and put it on a website. I will post that when I am done...then you can get the details for those who want them :)

His name is Adam and he is a great Christian guy. We have set the date for October 28. If any of you plan to be in town, send me your address and I will invite you to the wedding!

    This is so exciting!
